SAW. Growth Scans

Growth Scan Terminology:

  • HC = Head Circumference
  • AC = Abdominal Circumference
  • FL = Femur Length
  • EFW = Estimated Fetal Weight
Our Growth scans are offered from 26 – 42 weeks gestation. It is important to note that the growth charts used at Window to the Womb are standardised and not personalised to the patients features such as weight, ethnicity, age and pregnancy history. If a patient is already attending growth scans with the NHS then it is advised we do not scan so no confusion is caused if results are conflicting. Furthermore, it is recommended patients do not attend growth checks less than 2 weeks apart.
