CP2 Requirements for the chaperone role

Any member of staff who undertakes a chaperone role require a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. If this has not been completed the individual cannot act as a chaperone in a Window to the Womb or firstScan clinic.

All new staff should be adequately inducted and trained on how intimate examinations are conducted. All trainees should be observed and given feedback on their technique and communication skills in this aspect of care.
