Ensure the client’s privacy during the scan and when they are dressing and undressing, e.g. using screens and gowns/sheets.
The chaperone should be positioned where they can see the client and how the scan is being conducted but not in a way to jeopardise the client’s privacy and dignity.
Explain what you (or the sonographer) are going to do before you do it and seek consent if this differs from what you have told the client before.
