CP2 Key aspects of obtaining consent

Implied or expressed consent needs to be obtained prior to any scan.

• It is also important that valid consent should be obtained not only to conduct a scan but also to have a chaperone present.
• Prior to proceeding with the scan, you must be satisfied that the client has understood what is being proposed and why.
• Also, be prepared to discontinue the scan or procedure if the client asks or consent is revoked.
