Following the appointment it is important that:
- for firstScan:
- the sonographer documents the presence of a chaperone.
- the chaperone’s name is written on the scan report.
- for Window to the Womb:
- as this clinic does not conduct examinations involving the genitalia, formal documentation is not as pertinent.
- it is at the the scan assistant and sonographer’s discretion whether they detail their name on the Fetal Well-being Report.
Why is it important? If an accusation of improper behaviour is made several months or years later and there is no record of who acted as a chaperone, it would be difficult to recall who witnessed the examination.
